Ceviche. Flame-grilled chicken. And a pisco sour.Limón has opened its newest Peruvian restaurant in Mountain View, on a prime corner of restaurant-rich Castro Street. It’s the sixth outpost for chef Martin Castillo, who made his name at a San Francisco restaurant nearly two decades ago, then started expanding to the East Bay and the Peninsula. At Limón, the signature pollo a la brasa, rotisserie chicken with a crisp skin that’s served with aji sauce, is offered in whole, half or quarter bird platters. All come with two sides (tacu tacu is sauteed rice and beans, camote frito are sweet potato fries). Other popular Peruvian dishes on the menu include the empanadas and the lomo saltado, wok-fired beef tenderloin.Joining the traditional pisco sours at the bar are lychee- and passion fruit-infused versions, sangria, margaritas and mezcal cocktails.According to Antonio Castillo, this is the group’s largest location, with more than 100 seats in nearly 5,000 square feet.Related ArticlesResta...

NEW YORK (AP) — The clock is ticking. As the deadline to reach a new contract nears, a potential UPS strike feels closer than ever.Negotiations broke down earlier this month and unionized workers have been holding rallies and practice pickets across the country. The Teamsters, which represent more than half of the company’s workforce, will resume talks with UPS on Tuesday. That leaves less than a week to come to an agreement before the current contract expires on Monday, July 31. The union has authorized a strike and Sean M. O’Brien, a fiery leader elected last year to lead the union, has vowed to do so if their demands aren’t met. “We’re sending a message… all 340,000 of our members are united and ready to fight,” O’Brien told The Associated Press at a practice picket Friday in Atlanta, where UPS is based. UPS’s unionized workers still seethe about a contract they feel was forced on them in 2018, and say that the company delivers millions more packages...

The Bellevue House, the former home of Canada’s first Prime Minister Sir John A. Macdonald for parts of the 1940s, has a new proposed management plan that seeks to adopt an “evolving understanding” of Sir John. A’s legacy alongside the site’s restoration, and to increase the involvement of the site in community events. Acting Superintendent for National Historic Sites in Eastern and Central Ontario Valerie Martin says Bellevue House formerly had a significant focus on the achievements of Canada’s first Prime Minister, while the new management plan seeks to explore different perspectives on Macdonald’s complex legacy and paint a more complete picture.“The former management plan really spoke to raising awareness about the achievements of Sir John. A Macdonald,” Martin said. ...
